Featured Texas City: Austin

Austin is the live music capitol of the world, as well as the capitol of Texas.  It's been called an "up-and-coming" city by real estate experts.  It's certainly a college town, with the University of Texas located in the heart of the city. However, it's friendly to people of all ages and backgrounds. Sports fans can take in a game at Longhorn stadium while music buffs can attend live music festivals, and fitness fanatics can jog along paths near Ladybird Lake.  While there is plenty to do during the day, you will probably want to head to 6th street at night.  Bars and eateries flank the street, with live music spilling out into the balmy summer air from rooftop lounges.  Austin is truly a a city for the relaxed traveler.

Austin boasts the largest state capitol building in the United States, at 360,000 square feet, which must mean that everything really is bigger in Texas!  At the time of its construction in 1888, it was the seventh largest building in the world.
"Keep Austin Weird"
This is Leslie, a permanent fixture in downtown Austin.  Leslie is a cross dresser/ strong proponent of the rights of the homeless in Austin.  He has become a local celebrity, even running for mayor a few times (and beating out some of his competition). He even has his very own iPhone application!
